- Week 1: Overview of 1, 2, & 3 point perspective. Cone of vision. Anatomy of the 4 basic primitives and the ellipse. Line, weight, and draftsmanship.
- Week 2: Perspective techniques: Duplicating distance in space. Alternate vanishing points & lines. Transferring figures in space. Transferring planes and details with reference points. Angled Surfaces.
- Week 3: Intersecting primitives. Plotting form intersections. Introduction to basic compound surfaces: curves.
- Week 4: Compound surfaces continued; Using sections to make surfaces that curve in 3 dimensions. Reproducing curves with symmetry. Basic Car demo.
- Week 5: Advanced compound surfaces: Emphasis on adding details. How to create basic geometry & draw complex shapes.
- Week 6: Organic objects; Trees, the Grand Canyon, Rock Formations, etc. Focus on the “theory” of mathematical perspective. Over-laps and form intersections.
- Week 7: Shadows & Lighting: How shadows operate on the 4 basic primitives in sunlight. How to plot shadows on forms.
- Week 8: Point light shadows: How to plot shadows in rooms, on objects, and other items from a radial light source
